Information about Cookies

During the use of BKMS^® System, a text file (called a “session cookie”) is saved on your computer containing only the number of your session. This is necessary for technical reasons in order to establish the connection to a security-certified server. The “session cookie” does no damage to your computer, it does not access your data and has no relation to the contents of your report. If you close all browser windows after submitting your report, the “session cookie” will expire and be automatically deleted.

As an airport, our success relies on the trust of our stakeholders – our employees, customers, business partners and nearby residents. As a public company, we are subject to special obligations. This makes integrity a central aspect of the sustainability strategy of Stuttgart Airport. We have set down our values in the Fairport Codex.

We are dedicated to ensuring consistent compliance with external requirements, and we have established internal policies that we follow. We reject all conduct that harms Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH, one of our subsidiaries or any third parties with whom we do business.

Do you assume that individual aspects of the Fairport Codex have been disregarded? Compliance with statutory regulations and company-internal rules is part of a positive and open company culture. Perhaps you are aware of dangerous conduct or specific risks that could endanger or harm Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH, its subsidiaries or other third parties in connection with Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH or a subsidiary? Your report helps us discover such risks as early as possible, which may help prevent any harm before it occurs. In this way, you are making a very important contribution!

We have set up various categories under which you can submit your reports. More detailed information is provided in the individual steps when you submit your report. Please limit your report to one of the listed categories. If you would like to submit multiple reports on different topics at the same time, please create a separate report for each topic you would like to report. This will make the processing easier for us. If your report does not fall within one of the listed categories, please choose the general category "Other violations".

Please note that we cannot answer any customer inquiries, customer complaints or questions about services at Stuttgart Airport via this channel.

What is the process for submitting a report? How do I set up a postbox?

If you wish to submit a report (either giving your name or anonymously), click the “Submit report” button at the top of our introduction page.

The reporting process consists of 5 steps:

First, you will be asked to read some information on the protection of your anonymity and answer a security query.
On the following page, you will be asked about the category (topic) of your report.
On the report page, you can provide detailed information about the case in your own words and answer questions about the case by simply selecting responses. In the free text field, you can write up to 5,000 characters, which corresponds roughly to a full DIN A4 page. You may also submit a file of up to 5 MB to support your report. Please consider that documents (especially metadata in files) may contain information about the author even if the content of the document/file itself does not contain any information about individuals.
After submitting your report, you will receive a reference number to confirm that you have sent this report.
After this, please set up your own secured postbox if you would like to remain in communication with us. You will receive feedback from us and information about the status of your report via this postbox, and you can also use it to answer any questions we may have about the reported case.

If you already have a secured postbox, you can go straight to it via the “Login” button. Here, too, you will have to answer a security query first.

As long as you do not enter any data from which conclusions about your identity can be drawn, BKMS^® System will protect your anonymity automatically by means of a certified technical solution.

Please rest assured that we are only interested in the case you are reporting. Abuses must be uncovered and financial losses or other harm prevented.

Protection of the whistleblower is the highest priority.

This BKMS^® System system protects the anonymity of whistleblowers who do not wish to reveal their name. The anonymity protection function of the system is professionally certified. Your report is kept anonymous through encryption and other security solutions. You do not have to provide any personal information if you wish to submit a report anonymously. Do not submit any information that can be traced back to you. If you are employed by Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH or a subsidiary, please do not use any device provided by your employer, such as a laptop or smartphone, to submit your report.

When setting up your individual secured postbox, you will select a pseudonym / user name and the associated password yourself. This login information is not visible to anyone except you. If you lose your login information, no recovery is possible. In this case, please submit a new report and set up a new postbox. The new postbox will not contain any content associated with your previous report. If possible, please provide the reference number of your previous report in the new postbox (if you still know it) so that we can associate the information in your new postbox with the previous one.

Via the secured postbox, an examiner will give you feedback about what is happening with your report or ask you questions if some details are still unclear – you will continue to remain anonymous throughout the dialogue with the examiner. We are interested in your reports, and we truly appreciate your help in preventing harm. We are not interested in your identity, and we naturally understand if you would like to remain anonymous.

A specific examiner is initially responsible for each of the categories. After we receive your report, it will generally be checked by the examiner responsible for the given category. Depending on the significance and risk level of the category, it is then decided whether and how to investigate the case. Such an investigation can be conducted by internal or external specialists. If persons in roles other than the examiners authorised to monitor the BKMS^® System system are responsible for the category of your report, these persons will also be included in accordance with their function and duties.

Persons accused of having committed a violation may also be offered the opportunity to share their position on the circumstances described in your report. Your identity as a whistleblower and the identity of persons mentioned in the report will not be disclosed – unless we are legally bound to do so. If necessary, the information you have provided will also be shared with public authorities.

You will be informed of the closing of the case via the secured postbox. However, for reasons of data protection, information security and other legal considerations, we generally cannot share with you any details on the specific outcome of the investigation or any consequences that may have arisen.
