NewRe’s Whistleblowing Portal - Report Concerns
New Reinsurance Company Ltd. (NewRe) is a Swiss reinsurer founded in Zurich in 1926. In 1988, NewRe became part of Munich Re Group, one of the world’s leading reinsurers.
To facilitate the reporting of potential compliance violations and to ensure effective follow up, NewRe has implemented this secure and confidential whistleblowing system.
Via our whistleblower platform, anyone (incl. our employees, customers/clients, suppliers and other business partners as well as the general public – so called “Whistleblowers”) can report potential compliance violations from anywhere in the world, at any time and if so desired, anonymously.
Why whistleblowing matters
NewRe’s business and every underlying (trans-)action is based on responsible conduct and sustainable value creation. We attach great importance to the trust of our employees and customers/clients as well as the general public. Compliance with all applicable statutory requirements and internal regulations by our own people as well as our business partners is of central importance for this and part of our business DNA.
To fulfil this requirement and to live up to our high ethical standards, we want to know about potential compliance violations our own people as well as our business partners are involved in. NewRe takes any such indication for potential compliance violations very seriously and diligently follows up on respective suspicions.
Concerns or reports regarding an alleged violation of NewRe’s policies, including the Code of Conduct, or any other kind of ethical or legal misconduct should be reported to NewRe’s Legal & Compliance department. You may report any suspicion you might have on matters such as e.g.:
- Corruption / Bribery
- Other white-collar crime (fraud, embezzlement, etc.)
- Data Protection
- Antitrust / Competition
- Insider Trading / Market Manipulation
- Regulatory
- Anti-money laundering (AML)
- Sanctions
- Conflicts of interest
- Information Security
- Human Rights or other ESG aspects
- Discrimination / harassement / violation of labour law [for NewRe employees]
as well as other topics that do not necessarily fit into any of the abovementioned categories or that defeat the object or the purpose of any underlying rules or regulations (statutory or internal).
How it works
You have reached NewRe’s whistleblowing channel.
External Whistleblowers file their reports with NewRe’s Legal & Compliance department.
Employees can choose to file their concerns either with the Head of Legal & Compliance, the Legal & Compliance department or with the Chairperson of NewRe’s Audit & Risk Committee.
Confidentiality and the protection of the Whistleblowers is the top priority and guiding principle of our whistleblowing system. All reports will be handled on a strict “need to know” basis.
We value open communication with our employees and customers/clients and would therefore like to encourage you to provide your name alongside your reporting. If you wish to remain anonymous, however, please protect yourself by ensuring that your data do not allow for deduction of your identity.
Your Responsibility
Suspecting and/ or accusing another person of a compliance violation may have serious consequences for those implicated. Therefore, the whistleblower platform is to be used responsibly. Whistleblowers should only provide information of which correctness they are convinced about to the best of their knowledge and belief. As long as Whistleblowers had reasonable grounds to believe that the information reported was true at the time of their report, Whistleblowers may not suffer any retaliation as a consequence for their reports and any attempted retaliation would in itself be considered a severe compliance violation. Vice versa, deliberately making a false report also qualifies as a severe compliance violation and may have serious consequences under criminal and labour law.
